Separation Technologies LLC, a Titan America company, launched a new corporate responsibility initiative designed to educate elementary school children about the environment and concrete. The program uses an interactive robot named R.A.L.F. (Robotic Artificial Life Form). R.A.L.F., along with staff from Separation Technologies, and corporate sponsor Roanoke Cement, visited Greenfield Elementary School in Troutville, VA to educate third and fourth grade children on the importance of green building. Originally designed for NASA, Ralf has been adopted by Separation Technologies to travel around the country doing presentations in classrooms and auditoriums.
Program Director, Samantha White, says, “Kid’s love robots! It’s a great way to engage young minds on the environmental issues that effect all of us. R.A.L.F. says being ‘Green’ is great, but being ‘Bright Green’ is even better. Our ‘Bright Green’ program is designed to educate kids, and help them be a good example to others, making the small and big changes in our daily lives that all add up to make a big difference for the future of the planet.”
Separation Technologies was founded in 1989 to develop commercial applications for a proprietary electrostatic separation process invented by a company founder.
